Upgrades are always good to keep LOC fresh and full of features. So far, we have spent around $2000 on the chat room with the plugins and around $3000 on the community with all the plugins. Total of $5000 spent on software as it stands.
Promotion is a massive expense. We use a company to promote LOC to search engines, forums, blogs, social bookmarking sites and inbound links from other websites. The cost of this from January 2011 - January 2011 (12 months) has been just over $5100. To keep us highly ranked, this price is now actually $700 per month just for SEO and promotion.
