Spammers on the community - Please help us get rid of them!

Sometimes we have spammers sending messages to members on the community like the one below...

Celestina .These messages and similar ones are not who you think they are, they are spammers trying to get more info from you, befriend you and then take money from you. These spammers are based in Sengal and Nigeria and are mainly male scammers. Do not reply to these messages and please post usernames of these spammers in this forum post so that we can block them from the community. This will help us keep the site safe for all of our members.

this was posted in my messages from a member called ritacares. i,ve been getting quite a few of these bogus messages, whilst they are annoying, they dont bother me too much cos i only take heed of messages from people i know on here-swipe.

I have banned all of the scammers so far and I also banned the whole of Senegal from root as this is where they operate from. Some of them have clocked on to this and are using USA proxies to create accounts, but they are struggling to spam because of your help, we are really cracking down on this issue. Thank you everyone :)

Got an update from the software developers, they are fixing the issue that any member can send messages to anyone. This will be fixed so that only friends can send messages to friends. Might take a week or to so I will continue working on banning the spammers and countries that seem to have the higher population of spammers. Thank you everyone for putting up with this and for reporting the spammers, please dont let it put you off using LOC, I will have it all fixed very soon. -
